A Therapy for Love
Handcrafted Pottery by Selina
One–that’s me. Bear–that’s my family name (Yoong = 熊 = Bear). Ceramics–is my media.
Welcome to my world of art!
My name is Selina and pottery is my passion. It is here I find a sense of peace and joy in my life and loving every minute of it! It is amazing what one can do with clay and how this form of “dirt” can turn into something so beautiful. Apart from working on the wheel, I also like to hand build. Each piece of my project is unique and made with love. If you enjoy looking at my works, follow me on this journey while I blog and stay connected to Facebook and Instagram. There is always something new!
A Floral Vase Two Ways
A flower vase hand built with red clay. The imprint features a doily presented to me for Christmas, crocheted by my daughter Joey. The interior of the vase is fully glazed to perfectly hold water for those lovely pink Carnations. Exterior was glazed with plum and then wiped off to enhance the imprints. A driftwood handle presented to me, by my other daughter Jamie, was attached to give it a rustic look!
Tea Set fit for the King and Queen
I love teapots. This is also a hand built project using the same theme of doily imprints. Even the cups are hand built! Using the same effect of wiping off the plum and then dipped in emerald green glaze to give that regal look. Come join me for a cup of afternoon tea?
When You Kill Two Birds with One Stone
I love teapots… I love planting too! What happens when you put one and one together? A teapot full of love! This is a terracotta traditional herbal teapot. Making teapots take lots of practice. The handle has to be in the right position. The spout must not be leaky. So the best way to practice is to make planters first!
