This process is definitely not my favourite. My artistic sense tells me to apply colours the way I see it. However in pottery, glazing, is all about chemistry!!! I have no control over what the colour will eventually look like. As a beginner, all I did was dunked my projects into pails of creamy mixtures which had no defined colours, and hoped for the best. Test tiles were given to show the expected final look after firing. Sometimes the colour may not turn out as expected. And sometimes what you may not expect turned out to be a “hey, this looks really cool!” Glazing has been pretty tough. A wrong choice could also totally destroy your greenware.
My earlier works proved I had a long way to go.
