Gathered some courage to do a bisque fire today. It took me an hour just to get the hang of loading the kiln for the first time. I was informed before, as well as from Google pictures that one could stack their greenware like sardines. However, since it is only my first try, I guess I should just place them neatly for now. Touching each other at this point is acceptable!
Started a Cone 04 bisque fire, medium speed (since my greenware is totally dry), no hold, no preheat and to remove prop at 1000° F since my kiln does not have a vent. Sitting and waiting anxiously, recording every hour the temperature. A newbie at work!
