Here’s a workshop I attended. Pottery by @Reid Ozaki. (June 10/11 2017)

Reid Ozaki has been a professional studio potter for over 40 years and a teacher for 20 year.

Amateur potters like me practice on making bowls, cups and plates over and over again. Beginning to get bored with the same old thing. There’s only so much one could do on a wheel you would have thought. After attending Reid Ozaki’s workshop, suddenly there was more to explore. There was more to just putting a handle onto your mug. There was more to changing the shape of a wheel thrown bowl. I came out of that comfort zone and glad to have experimented on changing the forms which Reid had taught us from this workshop.

I particularly enjoyed making the ‘Pod’.  However, one had to be familiar with throwing a closed form which I had practiced on before.

Looking forward to making future projects.
